Fort Mahan Litter Cleanup
Washington, DC 20019
Fort Mahan’s nine sides make it irregularly shaped, but litter is an unfortunately regular occurrence.
Be there or be square...wait, doesn't that only have four sides? On February 18, join National Capital Parks-East to help remove trash from the fort and preserve a piece of history! While this fortification was abandoned late in the Civil War, it’s never too late to keep it clean and healthy.
Everyone will meet at the intersection of 42nd Street NE and Eads Street NE at 1:00 to receive supplies, tools, and instructions before heading into the fort. While there’s no dedicated parking, you can find plenty in the surrounding residential areas. Bring some water, warm clothes, and sturdy shoes for traversing the fort's grounds, too.
Register for this impactful event now, and we'll see you at the fort!
