Education Webinar: Veterans, Valor and Versatile Teaching Tools
Resource Spotlight
If you're looking for resources to teach history, social studies, and civics while incorporating veterans' stories and legacies, this is the professional development workshop for you! Veterans Day is approaching on November 11, and whether you're looking for a full lesson plan or a handful of new resources, join us for an opportunity to add extra teaching tools to inspire your students.
You’re invited to join the American Battlefield Trust and Wreaths Across America's TEACH Program for a free Resource Spotlight Webinar. We’ll share some meaningful stories from the history of Veterans Day and highlight a few service members' stories. Then, we will explore the free lesson plans offered with the TEACH Program and highlight the free Medal of Valor Trail resources. Feel inspired, grateful and patriotic while collecting fresh primary sources, biographies, tech tools and more to bring veterans' stories to your classroom in new ways.
Cindy Tatum from Wreaths Across America and Sarah Kay Bierle from the American Battlefield Trust will co-host this virtual session. They look forward to sharing community service projects, fresh perspectives on local history, and some of the unforgettable stories of courage that they use to help students connect history facts and character values. You'll receive a digital packet of free resources and an attendance certificate is available by request during the session.
