Education Webinar: Material Culture's Stories from 250 Years
Resource Spotlight
What stories can be told from "the stuff" that people used, wore, built or designed in the past? Let's dive into Material Culture and explore some favorite artifacts that tell fascinating stories from the past 250 years of U.S. History!
You’re invited to join the American Battlefield Trust for a free Resource Spotlight Webinar, where we’ll share a few of our favorite artifacts and their stories. Then, it will be time to reveal some brand-new, free resources to explore historic items up-close with cutting edge and accessible technology! Material culture is the historians' term for objects and spaces that people create, use or adapt which define their culture or experiences. From armor and arrowheads to houses and submarines, flags and medals, clothing and everyday items, there are so many stories to discover and share with your students through the objects of the past.
Palmer Hittesdorf and Sarah Kay Bierle of the American Battlefield Trust will co-lead this virtual session, sharing some of their favorite artifacts, new resources and collections. You'll receive a digital packet of free resources and an attendance certificate is available by request during the session.
Register today and make plans to join us for this free webinar. We can’t wait to share ideas on this topic by popular request!
