A free walking tour of the August 1862 and February 1863 actions that took place in Dover after the fall of Fort Donelson. This tour will be around the town of Dover with relatively easy walking. A pair of comfortable shoes and proper dress for the weather are encouraged. Please meet at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center parking lot by 2:00 p.m. The tour is led by Derrick Lindow, author of We Shall Conquer or Die: Partisan Warfare in 1862 Western Kentucky, and Darryl Smith, author of The War Department Tablets of Fort Donelson National Battlefield. It is part of the Fort Donelson Symposium, being held on February 28th at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center (same location as in 2025).
