Speaker: James Hessler, Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park

It is often said that Gettysburg and Little Bighorn are the two most written-about battles in American history. George Armstrong Custer played a central role in both battles. As 2026 is the 150th Anniversary of the Little Bighorn fight, also known as "Custer's Last Stand" among other names, we will discuss this forever-debated conflict to understand the causes, the controversies, and the roles played by leading participants on both sides, including Custer, Sitting Bull, and Crazy Horse.
