Battle of Great Bridge 250th Anniversary Reenactment

Join us the first weekend of December at Battlefield Park South in Chesapeake for this free, family-friendly two-day event, and step back in time to revisit this pivotal early Patriot victory of the Revolutionary War. To commemorate 2025 as the 250th anniversary of this critical victory, and 2026 as American’s 250th anniversary, this year’s reenactment will be our largest yet! Experience a narrated reenactment of the Battle on both days, visit Patriot and British soldier’s encampments, see skilled artisans demonstrating early American trades, try children's crafts and activities, shop our a “sutler’s row," enjoy food trucks for local food and beverages, and tour the VA250 Mobile Museum. Don't just earn about history--experience it! Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Free admission and free parking.
