Celebrations of the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Cricket Hill continue with Revolutionary War reenactors, colonial sutlers (vendors), interpretive events, battle reenactments and other demonstrations.
• Visit the “encampment” on Gwynn’s Island where soldier reenactors with their “camp followers” (wives and children) will set up camp for the weekend.
• Take a dockside tour of the 18th century replica schooner the Luna as she lies docked at the Hatchery with other colonial water craft.
• Experience the sound of cannons, mortars, and muskets as the soldiers and sailors reenact the battle that took place on July 9th 1776. These reenactments will include British troops on Gwynn’s Island near the Hatchery, and Patriot troops on the mainland at Morningstar Marinas, with the Luna and other colonial period boats participating as well. Two reenactments on Saturday at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and one on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
This is a family-friendly event open to the public at no charge.
