B. Franklin Cooling

Benjamin Franklin Cooling is profes­sor of national security studies at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, in Washington, D.C., and the author of numerous books on the Civil War. His latest work, "To the Battles of Franklin and Nashville and Beyond: Stabilization and Reconstruction in Tennessee and Kentucky, 1864–1866," completes a trilogy on the Civil War experience of those states.
