Help Save Sackets Harbor & Two Other Remarkable Battlefield Sites

Help save 88 acres at Sackets Harbor, New York, on Lake Ontario. It’s a rare opportunity to save land from the War of 1812 and we have to seize it.

Sackets Harbor was important as a strategic location during the War of 1812, serving as a key naval base and military supply depot that helped secure control of Lake Ontario. This land provides an important connection to key points of the New York State Historic Site and it virtually completes the waterfront! It’s also where the causeway from Horse Island connects with the mainland.

We also have the chance to preserve Revolutionary War history with 15 acres at Brandywine that were central to Washington's defensive line, and 55 acres at the Battle of Newtown, where General Sullivan's forces achieved a key Patriot victory in the Northern Theater. Learn more about the history of this hallowed grounds.

As a token of our gratitude for helping to save these combines 158 acres, if you can give $50 or more, you will receive a copy of the Trust’s Battle Maps of the American Revolution.

Please donate today and your gift will be matched $23.80 to $1! This means that for every dollar you donate to this campaign, it will be worth $23.80 toward the value of preserving these battlefields forever.
