A proposed interchange near Wyse Fork Battlefield would destroy an essential part of one of the most significant Civil War battles fought in the Tar Heel State.
Construction of this grade-separated interchange, with flyover ramps and overpasses, would destroy invaluable archaeological resources while ruining parts of the hallowed ground and endangering preserved land. Alternative sites that do not destroy hallowed ground can and should be selected to continue this project.
