Over the past decades, we’ve been able to purchase and secure 464 acres at the Antietam battlefield site and more than 600 acres at Shepherdstown, West Virginia. With the purchase of these six acres at the Antietam site, we could unify a significant portion of the battlefield and remove unsightly buildings that mar the landscape. At Shepherdstown, we stand the chance to secure 122 additional acres that are in near pristine shape and rescue them from becoming a subdivision of McMansions.
