Update: We've reached our initial fundraising goal and our education team will head out on their first video tour this November though West Virginia and Kentucky thanks to your support. While we've met our goal for this trip, you can still donate to support future trips and get access to exclusive footage from the Western Theater Battlefields.

You might recall that we have taken “video sojourns” to Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Vicksburg, Raymond, California and elsewhere.  We brought the best historians we could including A. Wilson Greene, Jim Ogden, Parker Hills and others and shot as much as we meaningfully could. We showed you some of the land you’ve helped to preserve and taken you off the beaten path.

Now, we need your help us do more of the Western Theater.  If we can raise $10,000 to fund the trip by October 31, our education team will travel this November though West Virginia and Kentucky.

The Background

We love the Western Theater, we really do, but as we are based in the east and the battlefields are in close proximity to one another, we find ourselves drawn time and again to some of the most iconic battlefields in the Eastern Theater. The west is far from us and the battlefields are more dispersed.

However, if we can raise the proper funds, we’ll go video-crazy in the west! With your help, we’ll visit:

  • Romney;

  • Philippi/Rich Mountain;

  • Mill Springs;

  • Richmond;

  • Camp Nelson;

  • Munfordville;

  • Perryville and more

We’ll include the best guests and special experiences we can arrange, and make sure these videos keep coming! In short, we’ll go crazy, shooting as much as we can at as many places as we can.

During this time of the pandemic, there’s an ever-more important need to use video to let people get a sense of these places. But we will only go if we raise the money to cover the costs.

Anyone who donates will receive a link to an exclusive video from the field—we won’t post this anywhere else—once we get to Kentucky, perfect for any fan of the history of the Western Theater.

Please make your most generous gift today to help raise the $10,000 we need to bring the Western Theater Battlefield experience online.
