Join this site as a volunteer on Park Day 2018, the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on event to help battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small. Meeting place: Battlefield monument at parking area for walking trail, Port Gibson St. and MS Highway 18, Raymond MS

Meeting time: 9 a.m.

Planned Activities: Clearing Brush, Landscaping, Painting, Planting, Trash Removal, Trail Mainenance

Planned Low-Impact Activities: cleaning signage, picking up trash

Bring Tools & Supplies: gloves, hand tools, rakes, string trimmers

History or Educational Programs: A local historian will give updates on preservation and actual activities on May 12, 1863

Food provided: Yes, a meal will be provided

Please note: Park Day is an important part of our work to clean and maintain this important battlefield. It offers an opportunity for members of the community to participate and have a hands on experience in preservation. It also provides an opportunity for the community to learn about the preservation efforts of Friends of Raymond.
