Park Day 2019 was a success!
American Battlefield Trust Event
April 6, 2019

This annual event brings history enthusiasts together in an effort to help keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved, but pristine.

Since 1996, the American Battlefield Trust has sponsored Park Day, an annual hands-on preservation event to help Civil War — and now Revolutionary War & War of 1812 — battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small. Activities are chosen by each participating site to meet their own particular needs and can range from raking leaves and hauling trash to painting signs and buildings trails.

This year was one of our largest events ever with about 160 sites, nearly 7,000 volunteers, and about 25,000 donated man-hours. We’re already looking forward to Park Day 2020, which will take place April 4, 2020.

Please note that many of our sites in 2019 are holding their events later in April or May. If you’d still like to participate in an event, visit our volunteer opportunities page to see what events have yet to occur near you:
