Bring your kids, grandkids, neighbors and friends and march in the footsteps of your ancestors and help to instill in young people a lifelong passion for history. Join the American Battlefield Trust at Cedar Mountain for this special “Generations” event, designed to help adults share their passion for history with younger people. Outmaneuver your opponent, eat some hardtack, smell the black powder and learn about the intense fighting, period photography and true stories of the Battle of Cedar Mountain, fought August 9, 1862. Some lucky kids will even get to don hats and uniforms (and 3-D glasses!). The event is free and open to all who come with someone of another generation.
