Join American Battlefield Trust Chief Historian Garry Adelman and longtime Park volunteer Mark Wheeler for a battle anniversary pop-up tour in the Trans-Mississippi!  This tour will serve the casual visitor as well as those who are very familiar with the Battle of Pea Ridge, which was fought March 7-8, 1862, and resulted in a Union victory that secured all of Missouri and northern Arkansas for the North.

Bring the family and the kids, the more the merrier!  This will be a car-caravan tour which will likely include three stops around the battlefield and will employ limited walking.  And plan to spend the day if you want to avail yourself of the great anniversary events around the battlefield that day, including:

  • Northwest Arkansas Heritage Brass Band concert (10:30-11:15 am)
    Visitor Center Auditorium
  • Blacksmith demonstrations (11 am-3 pm)
    Outside of the Visitor Center
  • Period broom making (11 am - 3 pm)
    Outside of the Visitor Center
  • Period tinsmith demonstrations (11 am - 3 pm)
    Outside of the Visitor Center
  • Union Artillery (12 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm)
    Behind the Visitor Center
  • 3rd Louisiana Infantry demonstrations (11 am, 1 pm and 2:30 pm)

  • 17th Arkansas Infantry (11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3 pm)

  • This event is FREE and open to all. You can RSVP for the tour here.
  • Transportation is not provided. This will be a car-caravan tour with several stops.
  • Please wear appropriate footwear, bring your own snacks and water, and be prepared for inclement weather.
