The Woodlands at Algonkian Park
47001 Fairway Drive
Sterling, VA 20165
On Sunday, May 1, 2022, the Friends of Ball’s Bluff (FoBB) will sponsor the 9th Ball’s Bluff Remembrance Dinner. This event honors the memory of this small but significant battle that occurred near Leesburg. It also recognizes the efforts of the Friends of Ball’s Bluff and their commitment to the park.
All proceeds will be used for our ongoing preservation and education programs in support of NOVA Parks Ball’s Bluff Battlefield Regional Park.
The event will be held at The Woodlands at Algonkian Park (47001 Fairway Drive, Sterling, Va), from 5:50pm – 9:00pm. It will begin with a social hour and silent auction registration and bidding, followed by dinner, and remarks by guest speakers.
Advance reservations are required and credit cards are accepted. Tickets are $65 per person and are available through the NOVA Parks website, www.novaparks.com, under “Events”. The deadline for registration and ticket purchases is noon on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
This year’s dinner speakers are professional historians and administrators of FoBB partner organizations. They also are well known to many local area history enthusiasts for their lively and engaging “History on Tap” story-telling events. Anne-Marie Chirieleison is the Executive Director of the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum. Dr. Joseph Rizzo is the Executive Director of the Loudoun Museum. Travis Shaw is Director of Education for the Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area Association. Each of them will be relating a less-well-known “story” linked to the Battle of Ball’s Bluff.
